The division of Gynecologic Oncology at Westchester Medical Center (Advanced Physician Services)/New York Medical College located in Westchester, New York (30 minutes north of NYC) has an immediate opening for a qualified faculty member, as Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Department has an unwavering institutional commitment and support for gynecologic oncology services. Westchester Medical Center Health Network is rapidly growing with integration and recent acquisition of other hospitals and services in the Hudson Valley area.
The candidate must have completed an ABOG approved fellowship in gynecologic oncology and be board certified or eligible in gynecologic oncology. Strong background or interest in research, resident teaching, and robotic/minimally invasive surgery is required. Prior clinical experience is strongly desired.
The division has a new, state-of-the art outpatient office with an existing new inpatient oncology unit. Chemotherapy is administered in our new infusion unit. The division enjoys an outstanding relationship with world-class radiation therapy services with comprehensive expert GYN services, including all forms of brachytherapy. Strong relationship and referral practice is enjoyed with medical oncology and surrounding OB/GYN practices. We have dedicated GYN pathologists and radiologists.
The division has ample operating room block times with easy access to a dual console DaVinci Robotic system. The department has a residency program in OB/GYN with 16 residents and dedicated residents to the GYN ONC services. We enjoy the support of a full time office supervisor, nurse, medical assistant, inpatient and outpatient physician assistant support, surgery scheduler and additional front office staff.
The division has a weekly robust comprehensive tumor board with dedicated radiology and pathology services. We are an affiliate member of the NRG and members of GOG Partners. We participate actively in clinical trials, including industry sponsored and investigator initiated research, and a dedicated research nurse. Strong emphasis will be placed on collaborative basic and investigator initiated research protocols.
